What is SEY?

Finnish Federation for Animal Welfare Associations (SEY) is an animal welfare federation that is working for the welfare of all animals.

SEY has worked to improve welfare of animals since year 1901. Originally SEY was only Uusimaa Federation for Animal Welfare (Uudenmaan Eläinsuojeluyhdistys).

In 2001 SEY and 37 local associations around Finland united as federation. In 2012 federation holds 40  member associations and approximately 120 volunteer animal welfare inspectors.

In the annual meeting in 2007, federation’s name was officially changed as SEY Suomen Eläinsuojeluyhdistysten liitto ry (Finnish Federation for Animal Welfare Associations).
